CBS 47 IN FRESNO DEBUTS BREAKTHROUGH ON-AIR 3D MAPPING TECHNOLOGY
Fresno, CA – CBS 47 has debuted the most innovative mapping system that this growing market has ever seen. It is called “Beat the Traffic”. This unique state of the art mapping and automobile traffic reporting system utilizes 3D topography, familiar landmarks, and cinematic animation to provide an intuitive, instant visualization of trouble spots.
“Beat the Traffic” integrates and maps up-to-the minute information from the California Highway Patrol as well as Caltrans inside a realistic, three-dimensional representation of the local geography. The system also displays real-time speed information along highway 41 using Caltrans loop detectors.
